Lenten Season: Wilderness

Wilder · ness
“state of the wild”

Lent begins in the wilderness. The Spirit guides Jesus into the wilderness where he comes face to face with temptation and struggle. Yet, in his forty days of fasting, resisting, and wandering, Jesus is shaped and formed for ministry. Similarly, through the wilderness of Lent, we are invited to surrender to the wild leadings of the Spirit. We rarely enter the wilderness willingly, but hopefully through our wandering we remember who we are and whose we are. The wilderness can become sacred even if it remains dangerous. There is no wilderness space too harsh or threatening for God’s love. This Lent, we welcome you to join us on this journey.

small group - Called to Life

Please join us for our new small group! Called to Life spiritual growth program created by the Collegeville Institute Seminars to help participants explore their understanding of God’s call in their life. We will explore questions around our sense of God’s calling in our lives, how we can learn to listen to God’s call, how we can live out multiple callings, how our struggles and challenges have shaped our calling, and how our vocations have changed over the course of our lives.  The Collegeville Institute hopes that Called to Life will help individuals to enter more deeply into their own story. We will meet every Thursday morning at 10:00 am, for six weeks, beginning January 23rd, 2020. For more information visit Collegeville Institute.

The participant guide can be found here.
